Thanks Philip, photoart denotes that it has been manipulated and I also said that in my reply to Chris Spraklen. With a strong on-shore breeze the gulls were hovering for long periods in one place.

This is gorgeous....
Very crisp in all manners and the composition is excellent.
I like the glow on the wings very much also.
The grass is awesome as well.

Two shots Chris.
The Gulls were cruising along the beach on a warm updraught. I had prefocused on the grass but my reflexes were too slow to get the gull in focus. So although the gull did occupy this air space, over this grassy knoll on this day, I used PS to create what analogue photographers have been doing in the darkroom since photograpy was invented. I combined two images.
I wanted to create a feeling of freedom of spirit, unshackled by earthly bonds.
I have been listening to The Blue Nile's new album 'High'. They have a marvelous capacity to set my spirit soaring.
