About A homage to trees. They join the earth to the sky. They make oxygen. They filter water. They help prevent erosion. They provide fuel to keep us warm. They provide shelter from the elements. They provide timber for our houses.

Do we respect them?

Nice tree. Love the tones in the hills in the background and the fog. Good about.

Loveble colors, in my opinion you could consider to compose the frame with the tree more left and not in the center.

nice grid lines mate..very nice essentials nailed right down peripherals adding beauty and grace as support to a robust composition.

Thanks Roger. This was taken on the shores of Lake Te Anau, a glacial lake in the Southwest corner of the south island of New Zealand. Across the lake lies Fiordland National Park, a World Heritage Area. At 1.2 million Hectares it is the largest park in NZ and one of the largest in the world. Home to millions of trees.

We'd better! Humanity wouldn't long survive without them. This is a good'un. I'm a bit surprised at its location, on what looks like shingle near the water's edge. It must have a shallow root system that doesn't mind being saturated with water. Did you use fill-in flash?
