Kamran,
I spent several months working on a project a few years back where I had to regularly go to Amsterdam. I was also there earlier this year at a conference.
On the earlier visits I stayed at a Hotel (Swiss Hotel?) that I think is only about 100metres from the Dam square.
I enjoyed my time there, but don't really remember the pigeons. I do remember all the rubbish being blown around by the wind. Hope they've cleared it up now.
Good composition for a self portrait.

this brings back memories of stumbling through that square after a few coffeshops. Looks like the royal palace behind you there?

So did you stand the camera on a tripod, hit the timer and get playing with the pigeons for this? Not something I've thought of before - may have a go some time
