I like this image and its subdued look, but if you were allowed to post only one, I would take you color version. The colors are too pretty to hide. I am a sucker for beautiful colors. Nice to see the contrast. Del.

It's interesting to compare the two. This has a much more somber mood, maybe more indicative of how many people view the leafless season. They're both very nice.

Beautiful rocks and lovely tonality. Smooth and tender sunlight which gives nice shadows. A quiet and lonley place, a place to relax.

The composition is nice, but was this kind of toward the middle of the day? The lighting might give a richer look near sunrise or sunset, that's all.

John, the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 30 min from me. All along the route are places like this, cut out of rock. Usually the greenery and the mountains make it apear hazy and blue. Thanks for stopping in to comment :)
