About I know it is blurry... i was heading towards this man... a local homeless man of downtown sacramento. I had my zoom in hand and tried to non chalantly take the pix withouth him realizing I was taking the pix. I wanted to get him on the street corner.. so I rushed, clicked and kept going. He was very intruiging. As you can see he is looking at me like>... hmmm?... is she taking my picture.??

Thank you...

I was nervous yet insistent to capture him. He intrigued me.

Hi, Mary,
I took the liberty of trying to tweak your image. I hope you don't mind . . . Some people object, and I certainly understand. I love film--especially b&w--but for me now it's just sentimental and nostalgic. I don't think you should feel pressured to "go digital." But once you've scanned the film generated images, you open up some wonderful possibilities that I, for one, never mastered in the darkroom. :-)

All the best

Hello George,

thanks for your note and comments. :)

In the darkroom, from the negative, the larger image was blurry. So I do know it is my image from camera shake. :(

I don't use digital...at least not yet.

:)

This is a very nice study. I find it very tempting to try such shots, sometimes "shooting from the hip." My shots seldom turn out this well, however. Showing the subject in the larger context of his surroundings works very well, I think, especially since (as you say)the image is "blurry." BTW, the effect shown here might be improved by uploading a larger image, up to 800 pixels wide instead of 450. :-)
Regards
