Danke Jorg for the honest criticism and an insight to the poor leaves. It's funny, if you look at the big tree in the middle it is crystal clear but the leaves do mess up. I fooled around with the photo a bit and added some gaussion blur and a little noise. It does look better if I may say so.
Hi Jim, first let me tell you that this picture obviously caught my eye, so it is a success, thats all what it is supposed to do. I like the view of green woods and lots of leaves and often tried to photograph this and the closer I get to the millions of leaves the more diappointed I am by the outcome. Somehow I feel that small formate photography, especially digital photography at its present state cannot do justice to this motif. You do a great job here, but I notice that here, too, the leaves become unsharp and I feel the same disappointment as with my photos. Nevertheless your composition with the fields of yellow sunlight save this pic and make it a noteworthy one because the yellow areas add to and enhance the quasi abstract cmponent one can see viewing this shot. A thought came while I was looking at your photo: how about softening and blurring it to accentuate the abstract quality? Might a be worthwhile experiment. Best regards Jorg
