The strength opf a Maple is quite astonishing... the likely cause is the acid rain from points south and west... my maple bush has many such specimins... but not captured as well as this!
My Finnish friends when visiting... consider a maple stand to be as a Cathedral... the trunks forming the pillars... the crowns... being the crown or cielings... painted by the season... and ever changing!
