Like a few other commentators I wondered about that shadow at the top. With so much else that was undeniably "right" about the picture, I didn't really want to have to THINK about that shadow. I love the range of B&W tones, the perfect contrast, the lighting, the shadow of the little girl and in her footprints.... a really original image.

What an original shot. Very creative and I like the expression on the child's face. I would have
extended the tire tracks and left the top shadow so that it looks as if she were walking into infinity. But it is also beautiful, just the way it is. Dee

Contrast between Man and Machine. The car has gone before her and the child is amazed by the tracks. My favorite photo!

There is many nice aspect to this picture. The shapes, the contrasts between the car tracks and the human touch, the shade and shadow. Good composition.

svend videbak   {K:7376} 8/27/2004
Really good! To lift it up, you would have needed a spotlight to shine on her face/features to make them visible. But you have what you have on location. This is very strong graphically, and the tire tracks add a dimension to a tired old cliché. Rgds, Svend

Eric Bumgarner Eric Bumgarner   {K:1229} 8/26/2004
This a greatly composed shot, the tracks seem to keep my eye on the girl and the way she is walking really leads me forward on the image. The dark shadow on the top stops my interest and brings me right back down to the girl. She is dark but there is still detail on her face which is wonderful.

Excellent shot!!!

Congrats,
Eric

yeah i agree there could be 'too much' in this photo. But still the focal point is pretty obvious.

Great play of light and shadow, IMHO if keeping the full shadow will be more dramatic ~

but then you wouldn't be able to see the tracks 'vanishing'. lol

Very suggestive and much detail in the dark parts. I personally would have cropped away the shadow above.

Fantastic image. The composition is just perfect - love the way the tyre tracks lead up through the frame and direct the eye to the little girl. The footprints look great with the deep shadows highlighting them.
