hi,Neal..it is "I" who caused this confusion..LOL..of course i noticed the one light in the window on your christmas card, but i was soooooooo tired when i commented that i also included that i like any "little" light such as dappled light in the forest..it still doesn't make sense how i word this, but now ya know that i "got it" and just failed to convey that the first time around..now,i'm not making much sense because i'm sooooooo hungry!..been having multiple site probs tonight, have you?

I don't want to belabor this but your mention of a dappled forest made me wonder if you noticed, in this little picture, that it's an apartment building in the background with only one light burning. Without that, I guess, my showing you this would make no sense.

I was reading your description - the one lighted window up there is one of my favorite things. I have to show you this: a Christmas card from a few years ago that was one of my early efforts at painting in Photoshop.

It really does have that mysterious appeal as Rebecca said. I expect a man in a black overcoat and fedora to be standing with his back against the building under the lone light. You can almost see the trails of smoke from his cigarette.
