Fine interplay between the angular harsh shapes of the background and the soft curvaceous ones of the subject. The amputation of the man's right forearm and hand, and his left hand, focus our eyes on his torso and expression, but also give the shot a more abstract feel than it would have had had they been included. A risky choice that, to my eye, pays off.
