As an illustration it is a very good image. There is the dynamic pose, a shield, a sword and good lines for an eye to follow. However in my opinion the skills of a photographer should be in captioning a great moment using good reflex, quick assessment of situation, and have the camera ready all time. I don't see it in this photograph. It is all about Photoshop.

Well, you`re definitely right on what concearns colours here :)
I had to try different treatments, as this work was (originally) commercial - so, as you can now guess, theye`re each part of two series on the same subject but slightly different manners of execution.
Personally, i tend to prefer the first one because of the rather heavier atmosphere.

This is really amazing graphic work. The pose, the toning and the light really make for a hard hitting image.
As well, the picture that you attached is another wonderful manipulation. You really have a wonderful talent to get your subject in the right pose, with the perfect look to make these have impact.
Upon looking at the two of them, I think I like the colours better in the one below. Your original post seems to be a bit washed out in comparision.
Still, it blows my mind! Great job!
