About
Every Wednesday evening these vintage cars assemble in the old part of town and people from all over come down to experience a "Blast from the Past" with lots of 50's & 60's rock n' roll, great street food, cruising the strip, dancing and just generally having a great time. I've been all over the world, but America is the only place I've found that celebrates the automobile like this. These informal displays happens all over the country. What a great way to meet friendly people and have a good time. The actual camera settings were: aperture priority @ f/4, 1/80 sec. shutter, fill flash @ +1 compensation.
Wow, George. Quite a display and you did the cars justice with the perfect lighting. Must be in the California air.
I am a veteran of 7 "Road Rallyes" in Bridgehampton, NY - not as a driver, but as a still photographer - pro-bono. My partner did the videos.
Once I have time, I plan to join Usefilm as a donor and start uploading a lot of these shots of cars on the roads in the Hamptons. What a rush. Trying to keep up with everyone on the course and get good pictures.
I agree with you about the warm hearted street fairs and vintage car shows in the U.S. I have attended in New Jersey, New York and Florida.
I love this photo. Maybe it is because I go back to when some of there were on the road everyday, and I have even driven a few of them. You have an excellent capture here. Del.
