Very nice portrait with a great angle.
I had some doubts as the "rules" say that the eyes "have" to be in focus, but on this occasion, singing, his mouth in focus indeed is best.

Good use of selective dof, composition works very well too. And the facial expression you've captured is great. Not sure about keeping part of his earlobe in the frame though.
