I'm not sure what extra shooting we will do... I'm hoping to spend a day in Cape Town and possibly the desert of Nambia.

Hi John
You are going to love it!!!! Let's hope that region had good rainfaills that will ensure a sea of colour for you.

Where else will you be going? Are you going to be in Pretoria as well?

The foreground flower is a wonderful subject in great light and well exposed. I'm struggling with the background a bit on this one. It feels a bit busy for my eye.

I just noticed your from South Africa! I'm coming in late August on a Freeman Patterson workshop with friends. We will be going to Namaqualand. I can't wait!

The flower alone with the light looks great but what really make this picture are the fading flowers in the back
Well done

Goeie More Jeroen :-)

I took the shot at around noon, but these plants were in shade. We are now into Autumn with very little cloud cover, so I am dealing with a lot of harsh light. Robert says I should get myself a little tent

Regarding the rating ... I rarely rate - now and previously. Unless it is a stunning image (IMO) that I personally like very much, I give a rating and will state what it is. So my friend, I am thrilled to hear that I would have received one of your rare sevens :-)

Linn,

this one is very good, maybe even your best...

You see what the light at this time of the day can do for you. (At least, I'm quite possitive that it was about an hour before sunset or after sunrise). It's very soft and gentle.

Good composition, nice colours (when you're a fan of pink, that is ;-) )

I'm not rating anymore as well, but in the ol' days, this would have been a 'seven'

Regards,

Jeroen

Natural and wonderful, very good DOF. The place in which I live this is a savage and invasive flower. Best wishes. Felipe.

Hi Linn
No critique possible. Everything is wonderful.
I wouldn't do any crop, the back flowers give depth to the picture.
Good composition.
Cheers

THis is wonderful, how did you achieve such clarity and the centre actually sparkles, sorry no critique only praise. I think the only I would have considered would be to crop it and only have the one flower against the green, but it is just as great as it is as well.
Regards Margaret
