Hi Ida, Good shot, the freshness and juiciness of the lemon are very well captured. I find the crop unusual, but original, emphasising it as a part of a larger scene. IMHO, I do think the composition is a bit too centered. Placing the subjects on the left side would not only create a contrasting dark background without too much distractions, but also add some more tension to the photo. Good DOF, though. Well done, my compliments!
Thanks all for your concern. And dear Paula, the picture is taken at a cafe in tehran. I actually thought the background was blured enough thanks to my 2.6 aperture, so it wasn't distracting. It's taken in the evening and the cafe window opens to a tree. The trees look more greenish after an early spring rain in Tehran.
Very well done. I was going to say that the background was a bit distracting, but then I thought it actually makes you look behind the lemon and wonder where the lemon might be. Whose house is it? What's going on in there? Is it after breakfast? Very good, and evocative.
