I decided I wanted to start a bit of advertizing photography, so this is my first. I really like this. Its three mini jam jars. Anyway enjoy! and please tell me what to change. Also if you like this, i will be adding my others in the next coupple days, so keep looking for them :-)
I too am not an expert in the advertising area. I really like the shot, simple is good, but the first thing that stood out was the lighting on the left side of the jar in the foreground. The right side is bright and catchy but the left side is blown out and detail lost. I would like to see the forward jar as clear and detailed as possible. Just my thought.
I like the concept. The limited DOF is good. I'm no expert in the advertising photography field, but I would guess that it must be to very exacting standards. Based on that, I think attention to detail should be a tiny bit better as the foreground jar doesn't sit exactly central in relation to the two behind, and the rear one's are not quite level with eachother. The highlights created by your lighting on the jars and lids I think could be cloned out easily in PS. Please don't be disheartened, I'm not trying to pick your picture to bits, I'm just guessing that to sell this kind of image, it has to stand 'head and shoulders' above the rest. I am just beginning to experiment with still-life photography myself with varying degrees of success! Good luck with your new venture.
