Charlie, I like this laid back pictures, nice shot!!! For the last 15 years I left my island home to teach in a Mayan village school, living in a thatch home, bathing in the river, washing my clothes on a rock in the river. No computers, just got one after my return to the West Indies. So this computer art is all new to me. I'm a artist first (mostly a print maker), and use the photograph as a art tool. Before moving to the rainforest of Belize, I worked with children in Haiti. After 35 years of living in the Caribbean, because of poor health I had to retired. I now spend half the year stateside, and the other half living on St. Croix.
All my best, Phil Pegg The Chart House, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

to all italian friends, sometimes i dig into my archive for the matter of curiosity and find somthing ancient as this one. as you may have considered, the advertisement was done unintentional and without prior testing :-)). antonella, i hope they have improved meanwhile. to pedro, i could become a little moody to admit my age to myself but that's what it is. and then, i didn't invent photography, i just tried to find out what it is about and make the best of it. that situation has not changed until today: photography need sto be invented every time i am about to trip the shutter. thanks to all for your very positive and entertaining comments. best regards charlie.f.kohn@sixpence-pictures.com // madrid

I need it too!! ;))) Thanks Charlie for your kind words, I am a bit moved? This is a beautiful document of real italian life, you did also a lot of commercial promotion (lol), I like the frame and the expression of the two subjects, above all the old man, he is really relaxing. Hugs Max

Hi Charlie
You already took great shots those days Like a colour Henri C-B The faces are very interesting
Thanks a lot for all your everytime constructive and so friendly comments !
Your question :
Yes, the F5 is very fast, especially with th 1.8/85. For me and my ( mostly ) landscapes to fast. The shot of the scots was taken at cambridge. I was there in one of the old colleges, the F5 on a tripod , ready with a 28 PC lens for the architecture, when this couple appeared in some distance. So I mounted the 85 and switched from manuell mode to A-mode with a 5.6 stop and from MF to AF. The F5 body has a good second shutter release for verticals. The body has a beautiful shape, but of course more heavy than my F3. Very good finder display and high eye point. I like to use the F5 for evening and night shots, because I can see all information about stop and speed very well illuminated. I use it for that in the manuell mode, so bracketing can easily be controlled by diff. speeds. The 2 second delay is great for that, so I dont need any cable. The F5 works well with AF and also that great MF lenses from AI and AIS type. The quality is very good. Normally I dont trust in electronics ( and never in digital ! ) but the F5 never failed. I used it at -20 Celsius ( see " Christmas Village " for example ) with lithium batteries.
The F5 is good for everything, but it looks a little bit aggressive. So in southern countries I use for 35mm an old Leica M3 or M6 , People dont believe M3 is a real camera and are relaxed. I hope my little F5 story was interesting for you and covered your question.
Saludos :)) Jan
