it is not important what it is, as long as you don't want to be documentary, it is only important if it makes a picture. this one definitely is one. and a good abstract at that.

Donna,
This is excellent with great detail and tonal range. In thumbnail, it looks almost like knife blades encrusted in ice and even at full size the main one retains the knife like feel.

Thanks for your response on the bathtub shot. I am savvy enough (and for the most part skilled enough) to avoid the worst photo-errors such as bad shadows, blown out spots etc (unless I want them to create a mood). In this case, because I consider the image to be more or less a flat out portrait - I did not think it should be washed out on the right. Several of the shots I took were much more successful in that regard but I thought this one was the most image. I try to avoid posting shots that I don't think are technically good enough (unless as I said it is intentional). But I received so much helpful information that I wanted to respond!

Facinating details... for something sooo cold, it is quite calming to just look at and ponder the bubbles and the cracks. Very nice lights and darks... well seen!
