Great shot! The outfit/model seem to match the pose well.

And again a creative photo. The pose... the painted nails, the hair. All works for me. But again the hands and a bit of the arms loose a bit too much definition IMO. The boot looks a bit hazy, but that's all tiny things I can mention. All in all this is a good photo.

Love the pose and contrast, how did you get this? I would agree about the shoe lace and the strap...the rest of her looks too segmented to have them hanging off. But real sassy though...Ooww!!

Thanks so much for the compliment.. I know how hard it is to find models, I just don't know how some people do it! Most of my models are friends (above), friends of friends (Isis, Haunted), coworkers (Equus), or girls from the pharmacy across the hall from the store I worked at (Vivace, L'élegance). Since I've moved to a new city, I'm going to have to start approaching people at random, or try to get contacts through friends, etc. Now that I have access to a studio, I guess it's pretty much wide open. So best of luck! I'll be looking forward to your work! (And I'll likely delete this post sometime soon.. ;)

My son is here with me today. We are going through your portfolio, he isn't a usefilm member yet, but will be soon. Here is a comment from him.....
You've got some really nice portraits in here...the kind I like to do, when I can find models who don't either charge an arm and a leg to shoot them, or who don't call the police on me when I approach them, screaming about some con-artist pick-up guy trying to coerce them into illegal activities (people are a little too presumptuous sometimes). :)
This particular picture reminds of the Tori Amos "Little Earthquakes" album. Very nice. :) I look forward to see more of your work.

contrast is good....lighting is also good...pose is very good...hi key concept done well...frame or use of space is very good...bra strap not good...shoes laces behind hand not good...hair on face not good... you apparently nailed all the big issues Jeremy......but you are just as responsible for the little things...the little things all add up, so you are ultimately responsible for every mm of real estate....You did a really good job on this just watch for the gremlins...

Thanks for the feedback so far! My goal was to get a totally white background, and I had a hell of a time using the Fuji Frontier system to do that (I worked in a minilab). So once it was scanned, up the contrast and brightness a little, and the entire background went as white as you can get. I always liked those "cut out" images you see, just a person's body, and the background is the same as the webpage background.. went for that effect. I'll upload some more now, I suppose.

very nice!..
i somehow like it with the hair as is and no border...guess a matter of personal taste..
i was wondering as to how you got so white a border, before i read your comments..
and i really like the way her nail color gives you the sense of where the floor is..in an absolute colorless background..
