About Back from France. Haven't finished processing B&W yet but I took a few color images - this was in Tremolat, a small village in the Dordogne valley.

Bravo, adorable !

Excellent, black cats are considered lucky, I love the composition of this, the cat being placed so low in the picture but it really works, I also like the dark bottom to the picture it gives it a great base, everything nicely exposed and sharp, well done - Richard.

The textures and aged wood make this an excellent architectural study! The cat makes it WONDERFUL!!! Good eye!!!

Excellent composition and very beautiful soft colours and light. The cat, of course, is the highlight here, and makes the picture. Wonderful capture!!

Hello Patricia:

One sinister looking black cat. This is the rear window, right? I think I found a photo of the front...

Nice shot. Good composition.

The docu photograph the composition and background are not perfectly.
Expression and meaning, because the moment is important.
The background composition is disregarded sometimes.

Welcome Back Patricia...this would have been a great study in texture, but with the addition of the cat it has been transformed into a beautiful composition...and in particular...the cat's pose...either getting ready to jump or getting ready to settle...it was a "decisive moment" as well...a good vertical within the wood and horizontal within the walls blocks....textures everyhere and wonderful exposure on it all...particulary since the black cat is there...but what is great about the cat is his eyes...well caught indeed...love it!

Patricia, so great to see you back.:) Your most excellent eye has been missed and you brought back this to start. It's wonderful. A great composition all round, and I agree the bottom inclusion of the street(?) just brings it altogether perfectly.

Thanks for your great comments, when in Dallas again we must plan to meet. :)

Pat,

The burr is too centered but I really needed the thorns to sweep and I am not sure if I could find this burr again (especially since it may have fallen to the ground by now)...

I do appreciate the comments - - btw welcome back!!

Mary

Everything good that can be said has been said but for me the highlight in this is how tactile the stone is and how the black cat feels like a black hole that could be sunk into when everything elso is touchable...

Although at a distance, the cat is really communicating. I like how the the curves of the cat interact with the geometry of the door/window . The light is great. It is a wonderful capture Patricia.

I love the balance here, all the rectangles -- very nice. And the light's so beautiful without being any sort of real presence -- just the mildness of the colors.

And then mr cat with his black and his strange pose -- what an accent he is. I must say, also, that I congratulate your including the dark road at the bottom, it's a nice tonal link to the cat's black and the blacks and greys above him.
Really nicely done, and welcome back!

Welcome back to the USA Patricia! I really like this shot. In fact it reminds me a lot of my own "Gray Cat, Pink Gladiola" photo here on UF. This one is more spare, and the black cat and stark surroundings make it a little more mysterious and/or sinister. The cat is perfect for this, and I really like the detail and texture of the door and bricks. Nice! Cheers. Craig

Just a perfect frame, very nice textures and colors, but the cat is wonderful! A black panther in the village, I like his position and his eyes. I think it will works fine also in B&W (I confess you that I tried it, it is very beautiful!). Bye Max
