Lovely portrait! It spreads freshness everywhere! The model cuteness is enhanced by a natural smile and look that you have caught with majestry. Cropping and framing are perfect and so are the reds recalls in her shirt and feet nails. What else...congrats and many thanks! Regards, Y.D.

Here you got a wonderfull expression Karen,I would give just a little bit more space around her.But this is my favorite of her.She looks really relaxed and the red look great on her.Hands/feet is usually difficult to pose but here they are in a great position.I like the nice border too.You are getting great exposures with your D100. )

Aloha Karen... This really is a wonderful portrait, especially due to your capture of such a natural feeling, warm expression. Your lighting is beautiful, though I will agree about a bit more seperation of the subject from the background (that is why I tend to shoot outdoors - no real lighting setup!) Your square format also works well. At first I thought she may be a bit boxed in, but the comfortable expression makes it work just fine. Finally, the focus does seem a tad soft, but doesn't detract from the overall feel here - you might even get away with a bit of gentle sharpening... But the overall joy here really makes everything work wonderfully. Excellent work. Keep em coming! Mahalo, GP.

Karen; this is beautiful! Exceptionally beautiful-- and I really liked your first shot of Roseanna too. The pose, the colors, the barefeet, the exposure and lighting are all excellent and this is a wonderful casually posed photo. I've gotta' put this in my favorites. Very nice work!

This is the best pose and composition. I wish you had used the backlighting to seperate her from the background. Great expression and detail. You are getting very good at the portraits. Don.

Karen, you are fast becoming a very good professional at portraits, you seem to have a natural ability and this is an excellent example of your high quality work. I do agree with what has been said regarding the backlight, as a normal setup it will usually comprise of three lights, but sometimes more may be needed (or less). Reflectors play an important part, I don't know if you have bought any yet, since I last mentioned them, but really they are very useful. You can put some seperation in this picture using PS, but it will need lots of patience and a good eye. I love this picture, the pose, the smile, it's all great - Richard.

I like this one the best ... She is a beautiful girl .... I do agree about the light behind the head. Her hair does blend a little but i love the red (hello love red) and is works well with her .Her face does seam a little soft for your work (dang d100) but over all I like this image . I want to see the rest ! I bet there is one in there you are not wild about I will just love :)

Karen if your new to studio portraits or an old timer this is still pretty damn good....you framed her really well and relaxed her enough...most of the job is done...your frontal lighting is good and works for her....however you need to get light to the background or use a large reflector to back fill her a bit to relieve her off the background, notice how the hair is merging with the dark background set up...If you lite the background but still metered it to stay dark it would relieve her also if you put the reflector there behind her it would create a small rimming effect to her and woul pull her out a bit more...the lighting color is complimenting her skin tones well...remember to never use a silver reflector or inserts in your lighting on dark skin people and especiialy blacks as it tends to ashen the skin...Lastely look at her rear elbow and touch up that drish area....again you did a very good job on this and look forward to more...
