thank u all for your comments. Here's all the background i have managed to collect on this subject: First of all the beach is in Peloponese, Greece. The cargo ship has been there for about 15 years. Locals claim that an engine failure during a stormy night beached the vessel at that locations, which is btw only 3 miles from the nearest port (of Gythion). The hull was breached beyond cost effective repair so the vessel was looted and left there. During my visit onboard, evidence of a strong fire, from the engine compartment onwards were present, resulting in surreally-molten walls, openings and ceilings. In terms of the body-count, and with reservations to the local myths, i'd say if none was killed by the fire, the only damage to humans could have been some broken limbs during the impact with the beach. The wreck is relatively accessible at own risk via a semi-submerged hole in the rust, though not recommended without a pair of shoes and an assistant to pass you the camera. As u can tell it is a rust heaven though the excessive use of graffiti limits the opportunities. I regret not having a plastic bag for the camera with me, to take the quick way out, over the railing and also not wearing shoes to protect from the sun-baked rust. I don't regret going there, not even after the tetanus shot.

I think this subject works better with stormy dark skies. That would really give it a ghostly feel.

It tells a very long story just by looking at it ... a story that can be almost listened if one focus some attention into the subject's details. Very nice photo.

Of course it is a shame that vessels like these will probably never see the sea again. Yet the look of deterioration really makes for great photos. Talk about rust! Nicely composed, that tilt always looks so great! Nice sharpness and details. Good horizon with fine blues. Too bad about the graffiti, why can't the youth just carve initals in wood like I did. Well as long as it is not Mom's dinning room table. Really a great shot!
