Obviously a DC-3, but the registration number is that to a Grumman G-44A amphibious. Not sure the story here, but this old bird is now parked in a small airport near my house in Roanoke, TX. They say it was flown in, but the runway is listed at 3500x40, and the taxiways are little bigger than automobiles!
Thanks for the comments, Dave. As you said, a good pilot probably could, and did. I'm used to flying slight larger iron, and any runway less than 6000 feet carries a certain "pucker factor" with it.
