Hi, Jessica. Pets are always great subjects for photos, and it seems you do know when a shot is presenting itself to you. I think the lighting is good for this shot, but the composition could use a little work. Focus seems a bit blurred. One thing to remember about portraits, which this is in a sense, is to try to focus on the subject's eyes. It's the first thing a viewer typically notices, unless the photographer is trying to draw attention to something else. Perhaps you were just too close for accurate focus; didn't want to disturb Molson by moving. At any rate, this focus tip has served me pretty well. Hope it helps you too. Looks like a great dog.
