I believe that the version in your added comment is better. Still a little uninspiring and with too much 'empty' sky, but the row of lights on the right add somethings. Bye,Luca

Well, with surroundings like that you probably didn't have much of a choice. A lake or a park definitely would have been better :-) And the meeting must have been either very late or very long - you mustn't overwork yourself in this heat :-)))

Hello, Matej. Thanks again :-)
Well, the surroundings were some electricity post, tennis courts with high fence and an ugly sports hangar...
I wish I was at that time somewhere on the lake, but unfortunately I live in a big, ugly ;-) city... And it was a 10 min brake in a meeting... the best I could get out of it.. :((

I don't think the shot you attached is better than the original post.
I'm trying to imagine what was 'below' the scene you have photographed. Obviously there were some trees there, and the lamps suggest a road or a path, so maybe it was shot in a park of some kind? Or is it the street where you live?
I think the original shot would have been helped simply by lowering the camera, to get the trees into the image, show the surroundings, and to include some ground. That would help put the viewer in location, give an idea of what the place is like. To simply see clouds like this, I just have to walk into our garden in the evening, and look up. It doesn't bring anything new, it doesn't make me wonder about what I'm seeing, it's ordinary and unexciting. But if I could see the surroundings, I would be more likely to think, 'Hey, what is this place, bathed in this soft, yellow light?'. The image would then bring me a new experience, the feeling of having visited somewhere new.

Irenka, the light you had here was great and the sky with those clouds would have been a great backdrop to an image, but I'm not sure it can stand on its own, especially the top part, which is somewhat dull (the clouds in the bottom half of the image are much more interesting). The treetops at the bottom fail to provide a proper foreground, and their rather chaotic presence suggests that you didn't pay attention to what you had at the bottom of the viewfinder.

The sky is good, with these beautiful clouds and nice colors, but I'm not sure about the bottom, I think there nothing interesting, it lacks something... :( Wish to see a different silhoutte here. Ciao Massimo

A beautiful sky, with good lighting and color. Unfortunately, though, I find this picture rather uninspiring, it doesn't move me or make me think about anything in particular. Bye,Luca PS: what are those strange diagonal lines in the bottom left? Electric cables?
