Such feeling, I cannot look at him without feeling ashamed for humanity as a whole - the horrible things people can do... A very emotive picture, beautifully captured. kind regards, as always, Jac.

So, get that camera and go document time after time again the results of ethically worse behavior toward living beings. As you already do, that is. This is photography combined with good contribution for more maturity in what we do. You know, documentary images can awake the rather... "deeply sleeping". ;-)
Cheers!

Hmmm... well, better to feel less sorry and participate to more actions for kidnapping and setting livings beings free!
Oops... Now they will name me "corruptor of youth" and "supporter of unlawful methods". ;-)
But when the law is not ethically intact, it has to be modified or to be... neglected!
Cheers!

I feel rather "photographish", Supriyo, when I look at the image. It's message is a hard one and thus it deserves to be put on an image with the absolutely greatest care. Which you managed to do just about perfectly. Great details and a very well made composition in just a simple balance. The bear is not only visible - it tangible this way. I attach a small deviation from your concept as a comparison to a somewhat more "neutral" approach - that is without the subtle tint of your image, which does a huge job despite its subtleness. Your toning is again right on point, as is the concentration of focus on the protagonist.
About that "clear message", well, what is needed for getting it is quite the opposite of the way animals are thought to be. It is either that kind of sugar-coated way of thinking that attaches our labels to them, as if they had some obligation to follow our methodology. So for example bears are given the attributes "sweet" or "sympathetic" or something, and of course they are there to statisfy our need to see them in some cage. ;-) Best of all also dressed in "bear-clothes" and doing "funny things" for us. ;-)
You see, it is not "feeling" that will re-establish living beings as what *they* are and not as what *we* love them to be. Since when does a living being have to follow the preferences of humans? The answer to this question is definitely "since never", but to answer this way and keep completely fair one needs thinking and philosophy. It is only thinking that can state the equal coexistence of all forms of intelligence - and animals are neither "sweet" nor "bad" nor anything else of the many labels with which we categorize the world. Simply because our labels are not the absolute measure. It is human arrogance based on not-thinking but rather blindly following "feelings" that generated this laughable concept that all the others have of course to follow our own way of awareness.
In other words, the enslaving of a self-aware creature can be also the result of that kind of false, occupying, possessing kind of "love". To admit freedom and thus accept all kinds of intelligence, of self-awareness, it is necessary to step out of the own limiting perception and think logically. Logic is far more humanistic than the ignorants would say.
Cheers!

It is beautiful and has stories in its eyes , .. But dear Supriyo, I believe the photo should tell its message by itself ! So it's better to concentrate on his eyes and expression by camera rather than words. Be well my friend. aZiz

I totally agree with your last line. There he was not alone. Another two bears were there. The zoo authorities need to take some action for improving their setup.

Then I think he feels lonely. A good setup with family and other bears and playstuff can make him recover.
Maybe it helps to force the zoo to improve this. Sometime the humans are the beasts ..
