Well, if you want to keep the background as is. You could mask it out and just adjust the skin tone and the background would stay the same but that requires more work :-) and skill.

Thanks for that workup, Clive. Yes, the warm tone does get her skin tone closer, but I think this adversely warms the greenery behind her too much.

Your perception is on target. I had been shooting in the studio with Katie, and when I went outside, I left my camera on a manual color balance of 5600 kelvin, which is why it shifted so blue - she is facing east, with the sun already set behind her, so plenty of blue sky overhead. I'll give it another go.

Paul, comparing the two images of this lovely young lady, I find that this image looks very washed out and very pale. The skin tone doesn't look natural to my eye's. I took the liberty of trying to make some adjustment to make this photo's skin tone closer to the other image. It is IMHO better but only you can be the . What do you think?
