Many many thanks for the nice comment, Dan!
Now that you referto IR, I have a small series done with ordinary film but using a technique that lets it look much like IR. I'll be posting that soon.
Cheers!

Thank you very very much Gustavo, for the nice detailed comment!
I find such days in relatively high lying places very interesting exactly because they clouds hang so low that they almost touch the earth and provide quite a "depressed" and at the same time "untouristic" look. The mountains at the depth look much better for getting lost then.
Cheers!

OK, not always winter, but I seem to like the dimmed light under clouds in any time of the year. ;-) This was, I believe, somewhere around March of last year, Mohamed.
Thank you very much for the in depth going comment, that makes me think about what I see and what I try to capture. One thing is true, I guess, I am not hunting behind some hypothetical "unique great capture", but I rather try to transmit some more of the whole impression of such places, and far away from all "excitement". A series is the best way for that.
I guess that this is why I started getting more and more interested in more "usual" places of everyday life. In such touristic places, like Engelberg, the photographer might unconsciously fall in the typical enthusiastic joy of the tourist that spends some nice days. But what about the people living there? If I would bring up some spectacular images of the place it would only be like putting the inhabitants into some kind of "always fun and always joy", which would resemble the typical cheating of tourists when some animator tries to cheer them up. So, for myself, I rather try to make it look as usual (and so perhaps as human) like any other place. You know, most people think of such places as the places of eternal happiness, but living on the mountains is really no joke. It's hard and you must get used to one thing: Loss!
I'd be only glad to make some photo-reportage of the place, or perhaps some movie. Let's see what the future brings.
Thanks a lot again and cheers!
Nick

Looks like an IR shot ;-). Just kidding. Ooooh, that looks cold. Very nice tonal range, I love the composition, it is very well balanced and all the angles flow so nicely. Great work my friend

Una composición equilibrada, por ahí el cielo tiene pocos detalles aunque el día nublado no te ayudaba. Una abrazo!

is it always winter dear Nick ,.. the last series that began with ( the hotel) shot are very distinguished with cloudy sky and mid tones shadows ,.. I like the way it conveys the feeling of coldness and winter. the monochromatic selection for the pic's mode also helps to emphasis such feeling ..have you tried to make an experimental or documentary movie. if not,i think you will very succesfull in it , you have a vision that needs to be viewed in a series not a single shot
