Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, visar! I see very well what you mean with your suggestion.
I guess that it would be indeed more balanced if the flower was nearer the center (in the vertical direction), since it occupies much too large a region for saying that it fulfills some kind of rule of thirds now. The way it is now looks a bit "dangerous" to me too, as if it would/could be cut at the lower edge.

nice concept Nick, and i like particularily the emerald green in the blurred background poping up with the pinkish colour in the focused.
i would only reconsider the composition, you have given enough room on the upper part of the canvas and cut the lower part-- maybe if you lifted it up just littl emore might be more appealing.
