Hi Marcus, An excellent action shot of this guy! I have to make a comment on the background. At first glance my impression was Oh no! Marcus is finally coming around to including some background, and now he has gone and cluttered it up. :( But, I'm glad I didn't go ahead and write that, because the more I look at it, the better it gets. I think the DOF is so important in this kind of shot. you seem to have got it just right for a nice little 3D effect of the hawk swooping out of the fir trees. Andre

Hi Marcus, I like this shot too, a great action wildlife shot, he definitely has something on his mind. Nice sharp contrast of the bird against the blurred background. He stands out beautifully, great work!! :)

Hot nose or not Marcus...great shot... This photo answers the age-old question of "Why do they call them "Red-Tails"?" LOL! All kidding aside, I like the perspective of the dive, A different look for you...(didn't know there was one!)
Take Care; Cheers,
Bill

Wouldn't have noticed the nose if you hadn't pointed it out! Although the background is somewhat busy, the bird does stand out beautifully against it. And it also helps to put the bird in the context of its environment. Not the best shot of the day? Well, the best one is going to be mind-blowing, then!

Another great bird in flight. We have some hawks hanging around in the park near us, but I'm lucky just to see them in flight, much less capture them.

Thanks John, what I meant was there are a few issues within the shot that are wrong, the hot head for instance, this shot should have been shot at -1/2 ev, but i was metered for more light when he jumped from the tree, and more PS then i really like.. Marcus

It's a bit unusual as there is almost no blue sky, Marcus, but it shows the full action of this attacking bird. An excellent image! Cheers, Markus

Marcus- Nicole just said all I wanted to! I will just add that I like the direction of his wings across the frame, with a head down- looks rather unusual and original and very special! amazing job! best regards, Pawel

Hot nose or not, it's a fantastic shot, Marcus! I thinks it's his attitude (flying attitude that is!), that catches your eye and gives this shot it's very different look. Dave.
