Thank you, because this was a very fast capture on my part. I did crop and removed all of the color, but I'm not real sure what you mean by added texture?
I suck at PS, so about all I can do is sharpen, crop, frame, add and remove colors... ;(
Maybe what you see is, that I usally use f/5.6 for portraits, but on this one I used f/6.3 to get a little more DOF and detail?...
Oh, also I was using an ISO 400 setting due to the cloudy day, so maybe what you are seeing is the noise? Or in film it's called grain?

Great capture! This is a true "candid" portrait, and it's fantastic!! Nice cropping, and great in b&w. Plus, you can't beat all the added texture in her hair, shirt and even the background.
