No, I wasn't in the boat. I was at Mudd Lake behind a makeshift blind watching a little bay with excellent lighting. I got about 300 pictures of this guy. I had to remove the TC for some shots because he was too close. At one point, he was about 10' away from me on the shore beside the blind.

Wow Todd!!! This is an awesome picture. This is the most spectacular Heron picture I have ever seen. Were you in your raft to get so close to the subject?
