I think i want to see some type of directional lighting on this flower. It seems too flat. It is a nice flower, with a nice blurred background but i want to see some slight shadows.

This is an interestrig collection of flower images. Why did you choose to shot at ISO 800? I think the higher ISO has added some of the contrast. The DOF is very shallow even foir this high ISO, what time of day was this? I liked the BW side view (1st image) the best.

Also, to me it lookes over sharpened. Do you have have sharpening turned ON in the camera and then resharpened? I have found this to be a problem and have turned OFF sharpening in camera and now only do post capture sharpening and tone compensation. I set the tone to LOW also. This results in very soft, low contrast images from the camera but they can easily be adjusted and sharpened.
