Hi Ray, You are absolutely right! That was the first thought that went into my head. I figured they were cashing in on "Shaun". It made perfect sense to me. That was a really good movie that took off unexpectedly. I've watched it a couple of times. Both my sons and I liked it. My wife, not so much.:) Andre

Ha! I thought at the time that Daisy was a good comedic name for a spoof horror film Andre and that it was one to rival a fairly recent British one.....wonder if you caught it over there. Shaun of the Dead a spoof on the famous Dawn of the Dead. It was absolutely hilarious....well worth a watch if you haven't seen it my friend. All the best......Ray

Hi Ray, I made a slight mistake when replying to this comment a while ago. I wrote that a "B" horror movie called "Daisy Of The Dead" was being filmed at this site. When I drove by one of the movie companies hand written direction signs, that's the way I read the title. Actually the sign was supposed to read "Diary Of The Dead". George Romero is the director of this new horror movie due out in 2007. He has quite a reputation as a Horror Master with the "Dead" series movies going back as far as 1968. "Night Of The Living Dead", "Day of the Dead", "Land of the Dead" etc. etc. So far, on my walks in the area, I haven't stumbled across any left over zombies :) But you never know! Andre

Thank you Stan,
That was a nice thing to say. I'm glad you like my images. I have a feeling that you would like a few from my "At The Cottage" portfolio. Between you, me, Andrzej P and Mary Brown, we are showing the world what the Madawaska Valley looks like :) Andre

Thanks Nessa, It looks like this one has a lot of general appeal. I thought it was a pleasant scene. The broken down steps seem to add a little "spice" to an otherwise pretty surroundings. Andre

You are absolutely right Ray. We get some first class films produced in the area, but mostly shlocky "B" thrillers. Just this weekend they were wrapping up a movie called "Daisy of the Dead" You can just imagine what that one will be like. :) I think the steps were never repaired at this place because it has more horror movie ambience the way it is. :) I did do a B&W version of this, but decided not to post it. It seemed very busy looking and distracting in B&W. I thought my best bet was this one with slightly muted colour set against the greyish tree trunks and crumbling steps. The more I see it, the more I think I made the right choice. Thanks again. Andre

I took a short break and missed this one Andre. A lovely setting and I guess eerie enough for some dark and sinister type movies. Great details and more beautiful Autumnal colours. Well seen my friend. All the best.....Ray

Thanks Thilo, It was a beautiful day! I know I wasn't the first to capture this angle, but I couldn't resist anyway. Sometimes we just want to take a conventional classic shot :) Andre

Hi Kes, This place is now owned by the Metro Toronto Zoo. (Ontario Govt.) They use it for various things like Art Camps and renting to movie production companies. Not open to the public though.
It's amazing how many movies and tv shows they shoot in our area (Rouge Valley) I thought it might slow down a bit because of the Canadian dollar being stronger now. But, that doesn't seem to effect the Movie companies. It's pretty funny to see the local woods dressed up to look like a jungle for a one of the tv shows they used to shoot here. Andre

Lovely fall colors, Andre! Old places like this sure are nice. This is a great composition with the colorful leaves framing the steps that lead the eye into the shot. I suppose the movie money pays the taxes and then some. Cheers, Kes
