My 6 m/o son required heart surgery 2 weeks ago. When seeing him for the first time after the surgery, with all the tubes, wires and machines hooked up to him, I found the restraints the most disturbing. John HATES being restrained in any way. Not to worry tho, he did well, and is now back at home healing nicely! Hospital lighting and with custom white ballance, and still didn\'t get true colours, but chose not to use PS to alter it. The retraints where to keep him from ripping out all the tubes and wires when he woke up. I wanted this photo to evoke feeling, and I think I achieved that.
Oooh... this is so very emotive, gives a big lump in my throat! Technically excellent and also strong as a documentary photo! I'm so happy everything went alright!!
having had a premature baby with a plethora of early health issues this really hits home for me, beautifully captured, the softness of tones evokes a feeling of your tenderness towards him, a beautiful and emotionally driven photo.
I am so glad to hear that your John is doing well. This is such an emotional picture. I can understand your feelings against the restraints. It must have been awful for you and your Son. I am so happy that this photo is now a thing of the past for your Family! Ranae
