About Finding a single visual object in a visually busy world is sometimes difficult, but sometimes these "objects" just come to you if you wait long enough .. for me this image encompasses the elements of an image that i need to be satisfied .. these are the qualities of photography and film, like grain, silver, tones, time, light, shadow, and a subject we possibly and hopefully recognize to be real (or unreal) captured within these qualities..
I took more time than normal (for me) to take this image, and it was difficult to read the light and think of my frame and depth of field etc., but in the end i am happy, and I was lucky this person had just sat down, and sat long enough, to give me some time to work...

John,

i'm very impressed with this photo, along with your entire collection. you have some great perspective--like this one or the one of the woman's legs in a crowd. great stuff in my opinion. keep up the great work.

cheers,
tom

I like it! It's fun!

I would like to find thing as you do. It's not hard, we just have to be open, isn't it?

Best regards.

Happy that person sat so long to take this photo. :-)

i like the isolated feeling of this image as well as your choice to center the subject. the shallow dof brings the subject to my eyes in a most interesting way. almost abstract.

Great John ! I love that kind of minimalism !

nice work, but too centered for my taste. better composition could change this from a good photograph to an excellent photograph. i would have liked to see the subject a little more to the right side of the image, with the left side (the direction she seems to be looking) giving it a more dramatic feel

Well... I'm sure it took you less time anyway to take that picture than for me to figure it out clearly... I'm still gazing !!!

John,
I can see what you were trying to achieve with the lighting and dof. The mystry of idenity adds, but I'm still anxious to comprehend the detail of the person. Have you tried this without the subject directly in the middle?
This does make me feel apart of this woman's moment of solitude.
Alisa

cool result, maybe a bit small and unsharp to really appreciate.
