Great pesrpective and detail on the building Doyle. The added sky appears beautiful when seen at first. After looking (and enjoying) the scenery a while the artificial nature jumps to the fore as one realise that the sun cannot come from behind the building to light up the front. Im sure if you look around youl finda great sky with the correct aspect of the sun that can do this scene justice. Great try, looking forward to the one with the perfect sky! Regards. Joggie

Hi Rina!
Appreciate the comment . . . though to the experienced architectural eye I should point out that Greek ruins usually have more than one column and that column usually isn't a lighthouse . . . Heheheheee.
That being said . . . I agree . . . that's what it reminds me of too! And I think the warm hue of the stone makes this image "Pop" (A technical term) more than the B&W and I like it more too!
Uh oh . . . I have a buzz light year toy too! Sheeeeesh, we're practically twins! LoL!

Oh my dear brother . . . I desperately wished to send you my book . . . but alas! Not even a word from you that you were going! ( *sigh* )
Oh . . . but you could always get another copy, right? I'm not 100% sure but I DO believe they printed more than one.
I'm betting a shot with the boats wasn't that bad either. You were there for fleet week? Hmmmm . . . if we had timed it better we could have teamed up and shot some stuff with Joel Aron and taken some great shots (he has the Angels posted)!

Nice and clear, Doyle. I have some shots of it too from 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I got water that was full of boats from the Blue Angel show.
I was thinking of you while in SF... wishing my stingy brother had sent me his copy of the book on where to take photos. I had baut 8 hours to accomplish that.
Best Dave

ImgonnatellyawhadIthink Doyle...I like Riny's b&w version. While the color looks great, ("The Rock" reallly pops against that sky) the conversion seems to pull it together...a more cohesive image I guess. I say give it a bloody go...
Now get to work...a expect the revised copy posted by Monday afternoon!
Take care...Robin

Thanks very much Ray . . . Always a joy to hear from you! Yeah . . . I've just gotten to the point where I can do that but it is a long drawn out process . . . (written down, step by step now) which can help me in the future . . . I have sky shots, of course . . . but since weather doesn't always play along. I am studying and working on PS procedures and from time to time (like here) the study may wind up posted if I'm happy with the results. I'm even looking into new ways to do things I feel competent in (like panos) because alternative methods could likely teach me new things. Besides, new skills can be combined with my old skills and perhaps I'll be better overall.
Most of the trouble comes from the limited versatility of Elements . . . still a great deal for the cost and a fantastic program . . . but not a full blown version of PS. I've just figured out a way to use curves which aren't available in Elements and I'm very happy about that! Most of the fun for me anyway is to get good quality from the resources I have . . . whatever they may be.

Hey Robin! Thanks for the comment. (Incidentally, that's a giganto-seagull . . . not a teeny bird). Oh . . . and yes, it's actually Nicholas Cage you see . . . sorry, but Sean ducked inside to "use the facility" . . . LoL! A most impressive building with an even more impressive history my dear friend. I am equally impressed that you changed the skyline....I haven't yet fathomed that out in PSCS2 never came to grips with it in PS5,6,7 or CS come to that:) . I can see your love of this shot and I judge you to be fully justified in posting it. I like it a lot Doyle and your picture is very good too:) :) Seriously, I love this composition and it matters not a jot that the water was excluded as there is a very different drama in this view of that famous place. Well done to you my good friend. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray:)
