About Decided to try this colorful Pike Place market shot in B&W instead. Used Channels Mixer and added a bit of grain back into the shot.

I thought it was DYING for color until I saw the little color one down there and now I like the b/w more. I think I would like the color one more if it wasn't so BRIGHT !! Hmmm it's an interesting question.....B/W is VERY rebelious in a way, going against all photo rules and logic...you know, colorful food, so go with color - I like the CONCEPT OF RESISTANCE !!!...it's wonderful.... (I see you're practicing your French - sans - it's the studio idea isn't it? - lol) Knew it..... Good work Mr. Paul

The composition is great, Paul. I like the colour, too, Paul! But the lights appear more blown out in the colour. In the B&W that is not a big deal.

yeah, better looking than i even imagined because the red contrasts nicely with the other colors...same crop as the B/W and this would be a good brochure or calendar image,Paul

...which is precisely why I opted to convert to B&W...to see if my composition remained valid sans colores.

I SORT OF think it does, since the foreground tomatoes don't pull the eye away from the vendor.

I'll post the color version when I get home, to let you judge for yourself.

..and thanks for your honesty.
With everyhing.

hi ya,brat!...this is well composed and a nice conversion,BUT...the PPM is alive in color and demands to be seen in color IMO...i just don't think it has the impact that a color image would
