About We took a walk just after the sun came up a few days ago, and as the sun shone on the grass it looked like sparkling diamonds...or maybe I was just looking for something to take a picture of of :0!!!

Hi Kathy,

Very nice and crisp early morning feel. The dew on the long grass is beautiful, and I like the combination. Good use of DOF, too.

I think if you'd panned down a bit, the grass and the dew drops would become more important; you just need a small "sketch" of the background to create the feel, but I think it occupies just a bit too much. Very minor point though, the feel is exquisite, and I really like this photo. Very well captured.

Cheers,

Hugo

It's amazing what you see when you have a camera in ones hand. The things that you see daily so often get missed by the frequency of seeing it. What great joy to see these items as new. A great find on your part!!! An excellent composition.

Great backlighting shot, Kathy. And the fuzzy bg simply complement your 'diamonds'!

Such a pretty sight Kathy when seen and you have caught it well. Andre is so right, the dew drops are balanced precariously at the tips of the blades defying gravity; something that I have seen and yet not seen, if you know what I mean. A beautifully composed nature study with the wonderful soft morning light streaming into your shot. A superb dof completes this very lovely composition. Well done to you sweetie. My very best wishes to you as always...Ray

Do I recognize this place?? Good catch Sissy. Always looking aren't you? What luck to have your camera with you! ) The b/g looks like an impressionist painting with the sharp grasses in the front. Good one.

I don't normally like grass photos, Kathy. I tend to think of yard grass as a pretty unphotogenetic plant. But this photo, with the grass acting as a blind for the lovely background works for me. Nice jewelry, too. Was it expensive? :>)
Very nice!

Excllent dof, really makes your "diamonds" stand out from the background, Kathy! I like your low point of view here, to get right down in the grass.
Dave.

Beautiful, the placemnet of these dew drops at the edge of the blades of grass is really amazing, I haven't notice this one till now. Good lighting, it shows the droplets very well. I think I would like the focus of interest more emphasize by cropping a bit on the upper portion then we'll have a diagonal composition with the blades of grass. The tree trunk is grabbing attention maybe becuase of its highlights. (IMHO)
good eye to see this Kathy, nice shot!

Hi Kathy,
Interesting how the dew drops have formed on the sharp end of the grass, and defying gravity at the same time. I can't say I've ever noticed that before. Well captured! I'll have to look out for that in the future.
Andre
