January, 6:30 AM. Low mist like this is common in Southern California on winter mornings, but only lasts a short time until the air temp warms up. Obviously it's not visually spectacular, unlike the image posted by VIncent directly after this one, which was not very nice, but it does create a quiet, peaceful mood. This is an abandoned orchard, destined I'm sure to become another tract of $700,000 houses.
You have depicted the fog and perspective very well. You really get a feeling of depth and distance despite the fog with the palm trees. And yes, our Socal land does get eaten up very quickly, dosen't it :)
Considering how difficult it is to take a good "fog photo," you have done a great job on this. I think what makes it for me is how you captured the different light layers in the fog. The dry plants in the foreground may not appeal to everyone, but they are very familiar to me, so I like them. I also like the way you have presented the line of palms -- they lead your eye through the photo.
