Thanks for your views, Nadia! :)
Yes, I agree with you about there being a bit too much sea in the shot. I did try cropping it, but I didn't like the shape. (Does that sound really weird?!) Still - I'm learning all the time and I'll know to aim a bit higher next time. ;)

Stunning shot SQirl! The clouds, especially those behind which the sun is sinking, are beautiful. I can't help myself in preferring less than half of the picture being sea, ie, approaching the (admittedly sometimes tedious) rule of thirds. Nevertheless, you've captured some amazing colours alright, and it makes a very good shot all up. Good work!

Thanks Attilio! You're right - maybe it's not the end. Maybe it's only the beginning. :)

Hey Terry! You've seen the unedited original of this one, anyway. If you want to see some real tilt, have another look at that. :)

No, sadly the Loch Ness Monster was away grinning into someone else's lens that day. The One That Got Away, indeed. :(
I seem to recall I took the photo while draping myself alluringly over a sunbed, cocktail in one hand and Nikon in the other. There are worse ways to capture a shot. Though I do think I must've been slightly tipsy when I tilted the pic in Photoshop this morning. ;)

Is that the Loch Ness Monster? Were you drunk when you took this Photo?

SQirl, I thought it was a buoy after i posted my comments. with cropping, i'd leave it as it is eventhough it doesnt follow the rule of thirds, the picture is still balanced. flare on this one is hard to avoid as this shot is straight on towards the sun.

Ciao Marco,
Molto grazie per le vostre parole di genere! :)
(It's been a long time since I spoke Italian... ;) )
Hi again Tarek,
Thanks for your kind comments. :)
I hope to upgrade to a new SLR soon, so with any luck the limitations of my current camera will become a thing of the past. Although the limitations of the photographer are pretty permanent, I think.

Hi Carsten,
Thanks for the tips! :) Interesting - the original shot was in fact tipping to the right, I adjusted the angle by 0.8 degree in Photoshop. Too much, do you think?
Hi Riny,
Thanks! :)
Hi Cernan,
Yes, there's quite a bit of lens flare there. I tried lots of shots in a variety of conditions, but they all suffered from flare to a greater or a lesser extent. I decided I could live with it in this shot. :) The small rectangle is a marker buoy, indicating where the reef starts. I thought of cropping out most of the sea, what do you reckon?
Thanks for your welcome, everybody. :)

SQirl, this is a nice sunset shot. Good thing the lens flare isn't that much obvious. I see a rectangular black thing on the left side though..probably a small boat? Anyway welcome to usefilm and happy new year..looking forward to seeing more of your pics

It looks like it is tipping down to the left and I think the signature takes you eye off that you really want to see.
Anyway it is wonderful.
Best regards
