Attempting to create a silhouette with the materials I had on hand: a martini glass, a sheet of regular copy paper, and a mini lava lamp.
I placed the lava lamp behind the martini glass. It had just been turned on, so that it emitted a bright glow from the bottom of the light and much less light everywhere else. In front of the martini glass, I placed the sheet of paper and allowed it to curve inwards into the glass. The areas where the glass appears sharpest is where the paper was touching the glass.
