About One year and 9,000 photos after getting my first digital camera, this remains as one of my best photos. It was taken within the first week of my purchase, and I knew as soon as I saw it that my pocket tripod was going to save this shot for me. I'm really happy with the lines, and the contrast between the sharp reflections on the river, and the very soft awnings, and the diffuse light falling upon the diners. Some cropping, a little dodge here and burn there, and here we have it.

Merry Christmas everyone, from San Antonio, Texas!!

Paul - a perfect Christmas card from Texas! I haven't been to San Antone at Christmas time but perhaps it is worth the trip. I doubt I could do better than this, though. Love the winding river and the reflections, the warm intimacy of the tables, the blurred movement of the waiters. Amy

Hello, Paul... I understand your prblem... choosing among 9000 shots...hehe..
But, I agree, this is a nice sample, well exposed and composed... a difficult goal, since it was a night picture, but you got.
Cheers!
Carmem

Well you have my vote. It is a perfect photo as far as night scenes go - don't see much better than this. Excellent!

I agree Paul - really good nightime shot. The amount of interest spread thoughout the two halves of the frame is impressive. Maybe moving in a little bit and down so as to elimnate the white lights in the top of the frame would let the focus rest more heavily on the illuminated tables.

Regards,
Chris
