This is one of my favorite night paintings. Many people ask how I do these images, so here is a brief "how to"; I use a combination of a hand held flash and a 1 million candle power quartz beam in conjunction with colored theatrical gels. One must use an all mechanical camera otherwise your camera will die due to the drain as it tries to hold the shutter open for the long exposures needed to make this image. This technique is not suited for modern electronic cameras or digital cameras. Please feel free to comment.
