John Williamson, I found Bald Eagle in one of the local Park I go to. I was so suprise to see It I was not able to get a photograph of it. They are noisy too. But I got so great shots of a Blue Heron about 20-30 away with a 300mm and 2x teleconver (600mm). filled the frame. Now I will be on the look out for these bald eagles.

What you could of done also is use the spot metering option on the Mintolta Maxxum 5 on the white feathers and opened up by 1/2 - 1 stop. You have a good camera. one thing to rember is that a camera meters 18% gray. I use the spotmeter and use manual most of the time. Good luck, Have fun any question you may have feel free to email me. also here is a lighten verison of your photo. check out my photos.

Good Photo, I think you should of open the lens up by 1/2-1 stop to bring out some of the darker area and light up the white feathers. A good title for this photo "Proud to be an American"

Very nice picture. Eagle seems to have an interesting posture. Good detail.
