Hi Becky! I see you are from Vancouver. I moved from Vancouver out to Manitoba in1999. I became interested in photography while in Vancouver. I have many pictures of old buildings near this site. Check out my group of pictures. There is another one there as well as an old truck. Most of my pictures are B/W and I wil be posting soon. You might want to head East to Chilliwack, Langley and Abbotsford. There are buildings out that way. As for the prairies, there are still lots around but are falling. Many pictures I have taken, out here in the last 3 years have since collapsed. Hope to hear more from you as I post, assuming you like old buildings. If you ever come out to the Prairies, I could give you a tour.

I'm always looking for abandonded rural buildings to shoot, but I think I have to move out to the Prairies to find them! This looks great, but I was wondering if you took more shots at this location. Though the composition is fine as is and is a good study of the barn itself, it would also be nice to see a little more vista or horizon to give the barn some context.

If you have the time, if you click onto my name and see all my stuff! there is a picture of that truck titled "not any more". Boy, I guess I should clear the moths out of my wallet and get more equipment. I don't even know what a PS channel mixer is. I do have a book and I will look it up and learn more. I also need to get some filters as many of my pictures have a "washed out" effect. Your help is noticed and appreciated. Thank you

No, Les, I didn't see the image you refer to. Sounds like an interesting project, however, and eminently suited to black and white. Have you used PS Channel Mixer to convert color images to B&W? Very flexible, almost makes you want to shoot exclusively in slides and decide later how to present the image ... almost! I just can't seem to let go of the B&W negatives, however ... :>)

Sooooooo there is a member who likes B/W shots of old structures. I have several that I will post in future. Your comments when they are posted would be appreciated. I am working on a collection of various old structures and discarded farm equipment. Did you see the one of the remnants of a truck with barbed wire thrown in that I posted on October 3rd, entitled "Not any more"?

Les, you might want to try this in B&W ... it might work better?
