To be honest Bill, we shot H/K most of the time. The black on all sides was done in PS, which could have been a mistake, with regard to whether or not it was a good decision to add it.
I really like the printed version of this. I had 2 sets of 4x6 printed, one for her, one for my book.

Phillip. I still like the lighting and the pose best of the three images. I assume you popped a light on the background grey or black. I love the drop off. Was this natural or did you play with after a little. Be curious to know.

Thanks all for your comments and observations. A bit of background info:
I met this girl at a wedding I did. She was a friend of the bride. I'm shooting her wedding as well, at the end of the year. I asked her to come by, because she loves pictures and loves to have pictures taken. This was her first time in the studio, and wasn't sure how to take instructions.
I may have slipped on posing, with regard to technicals with her, however; the shoot was fun. She's not a model in a professional manner, just a girl off the street. I know were going to do some more work together soon.
She came by yesterday to pick up her proofs. I saw her later that afternoon at the movies. She was tickled with her proofs, and mentioned she would be calling me.
Oh, BTW, we saw Minority Report with Tom Cruise. Pretty kewl movie... ;)
Regards,

I like everything about this photograph but her face. It is not flattering and I would have pitched this one and not shown anyone--wouldn't even have thought about it. A pout is like humor for an actor--when it doesn't work, it's a disaster. I still would like to get together with you in the next year and work through some sessions... You have some excellent potential.
Forget about what they are saying about the posing. It's pushing the envelope--and that's what our craft is all about--I do a lot of cookie cutting--because it sells--Hannibal is a dispicaple character that keeps you interested because somehow you want to find something you like about him--this girl's expression wants me to run, run, run..and I don't think that was your intent. t

Phillip,
I feel like the models right shoulder being back without her right hip being back makes her look deformed. Also, your subject has a very long face; so I'd reccommend she pull some bangs over her eyes and as Dimitris said, intensify the eye shadow and decrease the lip intensity. Exposure is great!

i think the lighting is excellent as well as the colour balance!!! one thing though- i believe the circular higlight shouldn't be in the middle- it highlights/ makes me focus on the torso area and not the face- also i am not so sure about the intensity of the lipstick colour- personnaly paler lips and maybe darker eyes will enhance your model's beauty

Hi Philip, I like this image of Autumn better. She has a sultry look, and a mood about her and you have captured it well. the reds of the other image conflicted with the moody personality I am seeing in her. imo :)
