Thanks again Biljana. You might not say that when I tell you that when we came back down this road one day last year, a large Black Bear met us by the side of the road. Luckily it was naturally afraid of humans and ran away very quickly. To fast in fact for me to get any pictures. Andre

Thanks very much Tibor. I've walked and now driven up and down that road a thousand times since I was 11 years old. But, that might be the first shot I took of the scene. Andre

Hi Wolf, I will be at the same scene again this weekend. I'll take a few shots from the same area to compare the changes in the leaves and attach a comparison image.
ps Then again, later in the year when snow covered. Andre

Thanks Andrzej, I think sometimes when we travel by a certain area so many times, we tend to take the scene for granted. But, as you say, one of the great things about practicing photography is that our eyes become a little "trained" so as to help us appreciate these every day scenes. This area along with the whole Madawaska Valley has been a part of me since the early sixties. So, I only hope my images do it justice.
I'm going up this Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe I'll try another shot from the same position. The colours will be vastly different now. Andre

Hi Paul,
Thanks so much for this thoughtful comment. I have to honestly say it is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about one of my images. It really means a lot to me when someone goes out of their way to express how they feel about an image of mine. It is only then that we know that the viewer has taken the time to let an image sink in. Andre

Andre, this is simple classic but wondrous, sometimes it's hard to appreciate beauty of our common surroundings but it should not be a problem for a good trained eye of experienced photographer, Well done, NJ

I am impressed by your image and about. Indeed it is a classic landscape with a high level of recognition. Even if I have not ever taken this road in particular I can imagine that you passed it hundreds of times as made it something that you know from several sites and angles of view, part of your own personal experience. It looks to a similar road I have also taken hundreds of times but it only somewhere else and also I know several roads that got the same qualification during my life. The idea that some roads make a repeated impression every time you get along is universal and that makes it to more than a classic landscape, best to you, Paul

Thanks Harry, Just a few weeks before I took this image, we saw a Black Bear in the same field as the deer. I only got a poor image of the bear running away. On the left side of the image there is another open field with cattle grazing. To towards the top is another field with the farmer's house in the distance. Towards the top right is another path that leads to the farmer's old vehicle graveyard where many of my early film images were taken when I first started photography back in the early 70's. So, this area has a lot of great memories for me. Andre

Oh what a beauty ! I saw a few deer grazing in a meadow nearby, just like in your image. Yes, you could make a panorama or just stitch some views together.
Be well Harry

I've done exactly that Harry. If you could peek over the fence on the right and just through the trees, you might see a sight like the attached image. I'm thinking of putting together a collage with this image in the centre and the views from all sides around it. For now, check out the right side of the image over the fence, in the attached file.
Thanks for visiting and commenting, Andre

Actually it reminds me of a similar path I took several years ago. It brought me from the civilised world into a marsh/wild type of environment. And when I would walk it very slow and silently, I could pass buzzards in a tree above me, hear the footsteps of deer in the bush .... like a fairy tale Harry

Thanks Wolf, I was toying with the idea of altering this one to make it a little more "fairy tale like", but changed my mind and decided to stick with the classic, straight shot. As you say though, this place has a lot of potential for some fantasy type photoshop images. Andre

Thanks Dave, I entered this one in that Reflections of Nature contest today. Unfortunately, I put it in the annual contest rather than the monthly one that had "first signs of fall" as the theme. Oh well. Andre

Nicely composed, with the road leading us into the image, Andre! I like the splashes of colour provided by the first changes of colour in the leaves, too. Dave.
