Thanks for the nice words, Marlyce! I do miss all the "friends" from Usefilm. On the other hand, the extra time was much needed. Maybe when life settles down a bit (next winter?) there will be an opportunity to start posting again. In the meantime I intend to at least stop by periodically just to keep track of all of you :) I hope that things are going well for you and Doyle!

Kathy, beautiful picture, however, more importantly I am going to miss not seeing you and Susie around as much....please do check in from time to time just to let us know all is okay.

Hi Kathy, I'm on my usual weekly catch-up.

I doubt that you will ever totally run out of barns sweetie, you might have to go further afield but they are out there waiting for you.....somewhere. This is a great conversion to mono tones and it lends itself nicely to my UK vision of the old Wild West. Good strong sunlight and deep shadow on the subject to provide a dramatic contrast. The activity in the land around the barn suggests that this one still has some use. Well seen and taken.

Hope you are well and that The Cafe is prospering. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

Good choice and effective B&W conversion, Kathy. This one differs from other perspectives of yours because of the strong lighting/contrast and the clean, cultivated setting.

I feel SOOOOOO much better now. My life is complete.

Waht is so interesting is the mix of architectural styling you see out west when it comes to barns. When traveling in the east, there were so many of the same styles in certain locales. But out west, you seem to get the variations when settlers moved in from other parts of the country. No style seems to be the same. And your photos of various barns in WA prove that.

Oh thank you, Kathy!!!

Best wishes,
Dave
