This is a wonderful shot. Excellent detail in the face. Faces with this much character scream for a black and white photo and you have chosen excellent tones and texture fore this photo. Your use of depth of field really makes this man pop out of the background. The pipe leads us all the way back to his face.

overall a good portrait, with good DoF. i too dont like to see top of the head cropped but depending on the situation sometimes it cant be avoided. very nice to see that pipe too. i saw a woman at lugu hu smoking one of those earlier this week but didnt get a photo.

Beautiful portrait Fan. Shame on this crop on the upper side of the picture. Other than this, I think B/W looks great, as well as the details. Good capture!
